Hey folks - Just wanted to say hello. Arm-chair modeler here; just coming out of a 15-year break in active modeling. You know, the same old story - girls, working on cars and trucks, college, the military, a career, wife and kid seem to get in the way of actively participating in the hobby. Never let my subscription to MR die out, though, hence my self-proclaimed arm-chair title! Now we've moved to our permanent residence (at least I THINK it is permanent - we've moved 12 times in the last 10 years!) near Reading, PA, and I have a nice open basement space to build an HO or large N scale layout. Recently visited Ken McCorry's layout that was featured in Dec. '04 MR and the bug has really bit and taken hold! If there are any other modelers in the Reading area who read this and need another operator on their layout, I volunteer! I am interested in modeling present-day Class 1 railroads, but I enjoy sharing the hobby with anyone no matter what scale, prototype (or freelance!), or type of operation. Meeting new people and sharing the hobby with others is what I miss most doing the strictly armchair-modeling routine. Happy modeling, and happy holidays!
