I'm trying, and not having much luck, finding decals to letter some standard-gauge freight car kits I'm working on, to eventually use on the dual-gauge extension of my layout. All I seem to be able to find are for cars built in the late 1920s/early 1930s.
I'm mainly after boxcar decals, for the D&RGW, AT&SF and either Pennsy or NYC. Can anyone suggest where I could find such decals?

I'm confused. Do you mean mid-1920's and earlier? If so, and if you are willing to try dry transfers, I believe that Clover House will have a selection that might be what you're looking for. You can check Microscale's website. They may not have a set specifically saying "NYC Boxcar" but I'm sure for each of those roads they will have decals that will work. They may be labelled as "freight car decals" or something similar. Microscale generally has decal sets that are designed to do several cars, so for each road might have decals that would work for boxcars, gondolas, flat cars, etc. with various sizes of heralds and slogans included.
