Good Afternoon,

turned out to be a nice day today, once the fog had lifted up. Had to run some errands - last minute shopping for the weekend. Petra made her famous "Nudelsalat" and forgot to buy one of the most important ingredients, typical German Fleischwurst. I had finally changed my tires - it is way too warm to drive around with those fur lined winter tires [:-^]

Barry - not again! Didn´t ya see the sign "No Whoopy Cushions Allowed in here!" Zoe feels kind of strict about those, as she told me recently.

Ray - good to hear, that Olivia is doing fine!

Todd - I did not mean to pass that headache on to you, but please don´t send it back. I am glad that mine is gone now.

Tim - you may want to check this page. Terrain for Trains does not seem to be a registered trade mark, but in case someone searches the web to find you, he will most likely see that page first, unless you pay Google a lot of money to move up in the listing.

Against my declared will not to tinker around with my MRR plans anymore, I did play with some thoughts again, only for budgetary reasons, however. Whenever I have saved up some bucks, an invoice pops up, which was not foreseen, but needs payment. Usually not really big amounts, but enough to nibble away my savings. So how to build a layout with nearly no money at all? Well, the answer can only be to strip the plan of all details, which are really expensive. No, I don´t mean locos and rolling stock, but turnouts or points, as the British say. So I have now come up with a "pointless" layout with point to point operation! What are the points for a pointless layout?

It saves space

It costs a lot less

It saves a lot of wiring

Three points pointing towards a pointless layout! All I need is about $ 25 for flex track (which I still have stashed away, but don´t let Petra know).

It seems to me, that there is now no point left to postpone the construction of this pointless layout!

Chloe, as supper time is approaching, I´ll have a bowl of Keith´s famous Polish Chili Verde soup and a beer to go with it, please.

TTFN!

Edit:

Keith - your post popped up, while i was typing mine. Your pics are the proof of what I said. You do have an excellent feeling for creating those scenes! [tup]

Garry - Germany maybe the most powerful economy in Europe, but in terms of neighborhood relations and friendliness of people, it is not the country I grew up in any longer. Aside from that, the red tape imposed on us really kills all initiative. The procedure of setting up your own business is a killer, not only in terms of cost. The people leaving Germany behind are not the drop-outs, but the best. When people visit Germany, they only see the beauty of the country, not the struggle of the people to maintain a life under the jack boots of our rules and regulations. As long as there was enough money around, it did not seem to be a problem, but now, as things are getting really tight, it´s a different story.
