Johnney Reb,... Allentrains..., TA462... Thank you for the nice compliments. This pic is from the other end (may have posted on this forum?), is all scrachbuilt. The 10 wheeler is my wifes and she likes old steam. I know some here would have coronarys mixing eras, But I would rather have her beside me in the hobby to enjoy it in the fullest way possable. But now she wants her own garage LOL for her steamer. So I guess I will build a shop and sell tickets LOL... again thanks for the complements, Take Care...John

I've finished work with this ALAMOSA CAR SHOPS reefer kit, a pile of wood and parts.

Now this car is in duty.

jwar41,

Very, very nice modeling. And only 80% complete? Look forward to seeing it when you think you have reached 100%.

Here's my weekly swamp update:

The white rectangles are temporary dams to hold the Envirotex in the higher inlets behind them.  The brown lump on the left is the beginning of the beaver dam.

I've started adding plants to the swamp basin.  I used one of those "pot topper" things for the bright green grass up front, and some field grass further back.  The cattails behind them and the one stinging nettle on the right are Walthers Botanicals.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Wow it's been a long time! The major things I've done:

I've managed to build three more car kits, this time not of logging disconnects, but old blue boxes and other assorted makers. The middle one will soon be lettered for the BWTC.

Also, I had a slight problem when an apparatus designed for the altercation of the intended direction for mobility of copious quantities of freight suddenly made a unequivocalness decision to become monodirectional. In the end, I replaced it.

A while back, I was encountered with a riot on the layout from workers who despised sleeping on the ground day in and day out. Because of my workload at the time, they held a demonstration and did the immediately above damage. So, in order to appease them before they poured acid on my foam layout, I built them some bunkhouses:

Today I enjoyed a pleasant visit from Rev. Dr. Major Dave Vollmer as he took a little side track to the Land of Pleasant Living before dashing off to BWI for the flying cattle car back to Florida.

The visit included some switching as BT-1 headed west through Cumberland, then a grand tour of the layout by Dave's notorious Brass K-4...

Here she is steaming up on the ready track at Ridgeley next to WM 204, my K-2 Pacific.

...and taking a spin on the turntable

then out on the line.  The photographers at Casselman Crossing were struggling to balance themselves on the rocks in the fast moving stream...

The footing was better out on the high iron, but the K4s was picking up speed as she headed downgrade toward Connellsville.

Later, the K4s was deployed on an OCS train out on the Thomas Sub, and shot here at Hinshaw.

It was a great visit, and I enjoyed having Dave go out of his way to see the layout.
