<p> Here in Germany, you have to turn in your car every two years for a thorough technical inspection. That includes tires, suspension, exhaust, steering, brakes, corrosion, lights etc. If you fail, you have two weeks time to get your car into shape, otherwise the police will knock at your door. </p><p>My 16 year old Merc is up to that next year... </p><p>Well, to be fair, when you are zooming down the Autobahn at a speed of 125 mph, your car should better be perfect. </p><p>Btw, if any one of you should come to Germany, you are more than welcome to stay with us. Would really be nice meeting you! We could go to Miniatur Wunderland and enjoy some spectacular train rides in and around Hamburg, take a harbor cruise, climb into a Russian submarine and visit an old Windjammer, go to Cuxhaven, where Chris´ , Jim´s and Barry´s ancestors probably have left Germany for the New World...<br></p>
