BLI 2-8-2 light mikados: sprung drivers?
Posted by sverk on Thursday, February 17, 2011 11:22 AM

Hi,
I am getting interested in a Broadway imports 2-8-2 light Mikado.
No clear to me what the differences are between the BluLine and Paragon 2 versions.

Does anyone know, especially, does any of them have sprung drivers?

Thanks,
Sverker

All the BLI USRA Mikados have sprung drivers.

Thanks Sheldon!
That's reassuring.

By the way, are there any ideas around about how to modify locos to get sprung drivers?
I have a Kemtron Mogul brass kit, bought some 30 years ago, not yet assembled.
I would love to make that one run on sprung drivers.
(I have some tools, a small lathe with milling attachment, etc.)

If that would work, the next would be to spring locos that have a solid cast-metal frame, like MDC oldtimer.
Would be a harder case I suppose.

Any articles, webpages, forums that show how others may have done?

Hints appreciated,
Sverker
