What would be the best adhesive to attach rubber to wood?

What exactly are you trying to bond?

Makes a difference ie holding an automobile or just model parts together.

Some rubber strips in a wooden display case that will be used to display my 1/87 CFD vehicles.

Why not try rubber cement? I'm not sure it will bond to the wood, but couldn't hurt {and right now I can't lay my hands on the jar of it we have around here to look to see}. Does seem to me it will bond paper to paper, so it should bond to wood?
