It's OK George. Irv wrapped insulating labels around each can but it looks like he forgot to cover the little lip around the top & bottom of each can. That is where he is probably getting electrical problems from. LOL. On the bright side, the shorts will probably heat the soup up in the cans while he is working on other parts of the layout.

FINALLY, CNR #429 class E-13-a (ex-QRL&P) is out of Pointe St. Charles shops after more than two years and renumbering. It should have been scrapped a while ago but the new diesel road switcher hasn't been delivered yet so the old lady gonna stay on track for a while.
It's my first serious try to kitbash a real steam engine. Not that great, not that bad... and definitively, it's great to finally have on the layout one of the engine that worked there back in the old days. I've been thinking about doing it since I saw it back in 1997. Model is IHC 2-60 and tender was heavily modified to fit the prototype. It is loaded with real crushed coal. I just need to shorten the drawbar and solder wire connectors.

Thanks Jacon. The only light source in the room was a small fluorescent ligt in the kitchen. The camera is very sensitive to light when in night mode. Even so the difference in position of only half an inch can be the difference between a good shot and a poor quality shot.
best part about that is it was completely an accident. I'd left my throttle in forward, parlee the train on a siding (around the backside) and walked off. I musta bumped it, and the train rolled back through the switch and pulled up almost dead-on to Miller when another member of the club rolled around the corner.

We're getting there. Some day we will. But there's a few other German pieces I want first.
I can tell you that the cans aren't the problems. It is a point that shorts the system when thrown to an unpowered track. I actually just fixed it, and will spare you the trouble. Funny story: I did forget to take them off the track once, and I now have a can that has two brown burn marks down it's side, lol
