Hello,

I am looking for Magazine dates containing the Milwaukee,Racine, and Troy layout I tried to search for it in back issues but did not really know what year to start at. Can anyone please help me find these articles?

Can't tell you off the top of my head, but our hosts at MR should be able to give you the info if you ask.

Ed, I think that the ones presented below are just about all of  those about, or associated with sections of, the MR&T layout. I've long been a fan of this layout and run a number of custom made MR&T cars on my own pike.

1985 Mar pg 76    Operating Night On The MR&T

1986  Dec pg ?     Build Artz Lumber Co.

1986 Nov pg 78    Export Elevator For the MR&T

1988 Jan pg 100  Go Tower On The MR&T

1988 Oct pg 90     Downtown Milwaukee On The MR&T

1989 Dec pg 88    The New MR&T

1990 Jul pg 78       Drop Bridge For The MR&T

1992 Mar pg 76      Hansen Storage

1997 Jun pg 60      A Corner Full Of Industry

2005 Jun pg 50       Modeling A Highway Underpass

There are one, or two, additional very recent articles (one dealing with making a commuter stop) that might be added to the list.

According to today's Cody's Office video, there is a trackplan in the December 2007 issue of MR.  Or are you looking for the trackplan of the railroad at the old facility?

Hi guys,

The MR&T actually shows up in MR all the time. About two-thirds of the Step by Step scenery columns (there's one in each MR issue) are done on the MR&T. The canyon scene on page 32 of the October issue, for example, is on the MR&T, as was the pasture in September's issue and the feed mill in August's issue.

Last spring MR published a special issue called "How to Build Realistic Scenery." That issue contains the best of the Step by Step columns from recent years. Three-fourths of those stories take place on the MR&T (you can still buy the issue direct from Kalmbach).

Also, the photo at the top of our home page (Great Northern passenger train) was taken on the MR&T. In the upcoming January issue, the project the staff is building (it is planned as a six-part series) is on the MR&T.

Another way to see the MR&T is to watch our HO locomotive review videos. Those on a layout with a dark red fascia are shot on the Wisconsin & Southern layout (which actually connects to the MR&T -- the layouts are across the aisle from each other). Those videos with a dark green fascia or any bridges or water scenes are shot on the MR&T.

Sincerely,

I would add to my earlier post that if you wish to "see" what the entire MR&T actually looks like (i.e. not just a trackplan diagram), the Bonus Feature on Dream, Plan, Build Vol. 3 provides a layout tour of most of the MR&T's trackage.
