Morning Everyone. Many of you may know this already but in case you dont, check out Everett on youtube, his site is thebige61. He has a great searies of tutorials. I really enjoy watching, very inspiring. If you're on this site Everett, very nice work! Your work is excellent!
If anyone has any good youtube train subscriptions to suggest please post them. I find a great deal of inspiration in looking/watching other peoples work. I bet I'm not alone. Just by Friday morning $.02
Hey thanks for sharing that info. I've been watching a slew of YouTube model railroading tutorials and had not even heard of "The Big 61". He speaks clearly and goes over details well with good closeups. In his earlier videos he's a bit hyper, but as the vids progress he's much more relaxed. Good tutorials, overall.
Now that I have a decent tripod, I hope to shoot a passenger car metalizing video and upload it to the "tube".

His videography skills leave something to be desired but he's really informative and has a lot of useful information. That would be a great segment for the MR website. Members video clips on modeling tips

I watched a couple of big61's video's Very good job. People watching are usually doing so for the info and not into the quality of the video. The first video in the link above to Joe Fusco was disappointing at best. The video load time is very poor and that's with a 25 meg connection on my end. After a couple of minutes of watching slow load followed by a few seconds of video at a time I gave up.

There's seems to be several "How To' videos on Youtube that are informative.
I checked out the site mentioned and I looked at part of the Building a River video and saw that he used the green floral foam. You may want to reconsider using that material. My wife works at a florist and I was thinking at one time to purchase a box of it for scenery purposes since it was easy to cut or carve. She said one problem with that thought is you don't want it to get very wet. Green floral form will adsorb water like a sponge. It is designed to do so since it is used in flower arrangments that alot of times require water. When wet you don't want to mess with it as it can be very soft and when it dries out it will crumble almost like a power if disturbed, as she demostrated when she took apart an old flower arrangement. Not a very stable material to lean up against either.
Just a thought to consider.
I love that Static Grass Applicator with the Flyswatter Vid he has; I have Two at home and will be trying this soon. It's his knowledge I am after; I don't care how his Video is as long as I know what he is doing.
