Hello
I am considering purchasing a Broadway Limited Paragon 2 Hudson with the standard tender, however I am unsure which lettering style would fit my period. Broadway Limited has produced Hudsons with two lettering types: Roman lettering and Gothic lettering. I am modelling the New York Central somewhere between 1945 and1955. From the little information I have found, it seems the Gothic style was introduced when the industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss re-designed the 20th century limited in 1938, however I have not been able to find any sources confirming this. If anyone could help with information I would be grateful.
Thanks

Kieran,
You are correct. Gothic, Block, or Modern Letting is what you want for that era.
Since you mentioned Dreyfuss, Kieran, have you seen or considered the BLI 20th Century Hudson, too? It's supposed to be due out in July. She's a beauty from the pictures they've recently posted on their web site.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.

Thanks Tom
Yeah, I've been waiting for the Broadway Limited Dreyfuss Hudson for some time. I really hope it is released in July. The detail on it looks amazing, and the price looks to be far more reasonable then the MTH Dreyfuss that I've also owned.
