bridge over a river
Posted by DR. Anatomy on Sunday, May 23, 2010 5:13 PM

I have a dilemma. I am stuck on how to construct a bridge over a river in the middle of my layout. If someone could email me I could attach a picture of my problem.

Oh Boy! ANother Photobucket tutorial vic user!

I kid, Photobucket is great. I don' hand out my e-mail though, so I can;t help you there.

Go to www.photbucket.com sign up, and then upload the pcs there. Underneath the picture will be something that looks like [img]a weblink starting with www.photbucket...[ /img] copy and paste that into the text box, and it will make a picture appear.

As for a brige, if the river is not yet laid, then construct your bridge and the riverbed as you want it, wither foam or paper, paint it in browns and ggreens, maybe some dark blues if it's a deep river, the darker colors to the middle. Put your bridge pilings in, and then block off the front and back edges of the layout around the river.

From there, there's any numer of water makers. Real water does not scale down, so unless your doing an RC boat harbor, which can be worht the out of scale water, you'll need one of those. Or caulk. MRR just did an arti cle on using caulk for water. Probably rougher thanwhat you need though. Depending on what you use, you'll either pour in the "water", or make sheets on a cookie pan to put in, or mold in the caulk and paint it
