Im doing some much needed cleaning and maintanence on my Locomotives. When removing and reassembling flywheels, should I use some form of adhesive to secure the flywheels in place? If so, what should I use?
Thanks
Bryan
Flywheels should be a friction fit and not need glue. When or if the friction stops fricking and the flywheels slip or fall off. then adhesives are the way to go. For metal to metal it's either CA (superglue) or epoxy. Both of them want the metal surfaces grease and oil free in order to stick.

High strength Locktite is the way to go. Heat and special tools required to remove after. The Blue medium strength is not as strong but will hold most things that tend to loosen. They dry in the absence of air so just a small drop is all that is required. I also use it to requarter drivers.
Flywheels rarely have to be removed in a maintenance program. Why would you remove the flywheels?
