I think most model railroaders have a stronger focus in one area, and less focus in another. My lesser focus is the background scenery. I mounted instant horizon scenery and instant buildings on 1/8 inch foam board measuring 24 inches high by 36 inches long. I used scotch double sided tape to secure each panel to the concrete block walls in the basement. The tape won't stick to the walls. How can I get these panels to stay in place with a minimum amount of effort? I don't want to drill holes in the walls.
Are the concrete block walls treated or painted in any way? If not, you're going to have a hard time getting tape to stick to them. If they're just bare concrete, it would be a good idea to paint them anyway. Doing so will greatly reduce the amount of concrete dust in the basement. The same goes for concrete floors, by the way.
You might try using Aileen's Tacky Glue. You can get a decent-sized container for a dollar or two at a craft store or even Wal-Mart. It sticks pretty well, but it also comes off without a lot of fuss if you have to remove it.

If you just wipe down the wall with warm soapy water, let it dry, the double-sided tape would probably hold it in place. Did you used the little squares of double-sided tape or the roll cut to length?
