Well Mr. Digger without knowing anything about your railroad, that is the era,purpose, setting <br />or even the size, that is a very hard queston to anwser. Generally engine facilitys are located close to the yards, usually opposit the the main ladder. I recommend you get a copy of the track planing books available from Klamaback. I think one is titled something like "track planning for realistic operation" by John Armstong. It describes the basics of prototype operations and <br />general guildlines that are very helpfull in design your model railroad. <br /> <br />may you have green lights
