Walthers HO Trainline Question
Posted by CB&Q4-8-4Fanatic on Thursday, January 28, 2010 7:04 AM
I have the walthers ho trainline f40ph model with the Metra roadname. Has anyone detailed these to look like they do today? Has anyone added dcc & sound to them? Your help is appreciated.
If you ran a no car train on no track, how long would it take to derail?

I have a couple of the FA's and they are great runners. Dunno if the mechanism in the F440ph is the same. DCC install is a hard waire, but it's easy - there are wires from each truck pickup and two wires to the motor. Sound, at least in the FA, would probably involve removing some of the frame to make room for a decent size speaker. A small one might fit over the rear truck but you'd get better results cutting the frame to fit a bigger one.
