My Frisco 4 8 2 Mountain came straight out of the box brand new with a broken piece. It was part of the bell bracket. A very small and minor part. I never thought about sending it in for warrenty work. It is a Spectrum (Bachmann). I don't think I will send it back, I actually got it at the Great American Train Show last year when it was here. But thanks for posting this, it has opened my eyes about warranties. [:)]
