walthers Skytop lounge lighting
Posted by Hesi2000 on Friday, January 8, 2010 9:56 AM

Dear Forum members

I did a search but could not find any postings. Has anyone attempted to go further then just installing a lighting kit in Walthers' Skytop lounge car? What I mean, did anyone disassemble the car further then to remove the roof may be to install  a funktioning end light or even marker lights? I am after some disassembly tips to acomplish such task.

Thank you best regards

juergen

I recently picked up a skytop lounge and I was planning on installing a rear marker light.  I've gotten it apart but I haven't decided how to run the wires from my function-only decoder to the marker.

Once you have the roof off, the skytop end can be removed by pressing the clear plastic tabs near the end wall toward the back of the car.  The sides are easy to remove, just find the tabs for them and push the top ones down (once you have all the top ones out, the bottom ones should come easily).  Take out the wall near the skytop end by pulling the remaining wall pieces apart.  The floor can be removed by first removing all of the underside screws along the center that are not attached to the trucks or couplers plus the coupler pocket screws on the skytop end, then pull the remaining wall pieces apart and you should be able to pull up the floor.
