What is it with me and trains this Christmas!?

It's kind of weird how things turn out. So far, 4 out of 5 train items I've gotten this Christmas have had something missing!Shock

First, it was my RTR AMD-103. Its headlights were wired backwards, and the rather large fan grill is missing. Next, one of my Branchline Sleeper kits was missing a couple detail parts. After that, my NWSL Shay power kit was missing a worm assembly, and it had the wrong motor. And now, my other Branchline sleeper is missing the wheels, couplers, screws, and laser etched windows! The only complete HO thing I got was my Keystone Shay.

How many of you have had missing parts or other problems with these manufacturers? It's comical enough that I'm keeping a pretty cool head about it, but I hope they'll stand behind their products and send me everything that's missing.

You're not alone with missing stuff. I've had a few cases of my own recently: A RTR GP40-2 and a RTR SD40. The first one didn't want to move when I placed it on the tracks and I quickly found out why after popping the shell off. One of the metal clips on the front trucks wasn't sitting properly and I fixed that without a problem. The funny thing is that this is probably one of the quietest running Athearns that I have and it's almost as good as an Atlas in that respect.

The SD40 was an online purchase and it's missing the rear footstep along with a lightbulb for the rear. The wiring for the bulb is there, but the bulb itself seems to be gone. The other bulb is fine though. I'm going to be sending Athearn an email come Monday for the parts

I also had an Atlas GP40-2 that came with a broken rear footstep, but that wasn't a big deal since it came with an extra one.

Last year,I bought a LLP2K MoPac GP18 online from Toy Train Heaven.

It ran good for a while, but now it runs very sluggish.I have to push it to get it going and when it does run,I notice that it sparks a little!!

I also bought a LLP2K FA1 online last month from a guy in Utah on the HO Yard Sale Yahoo Group.

It was in the original box and when I put the chassis on the track,it ran very sluggish as well!!

So I see where your'e coming from!!You have my sympathy!!
