BRANCHLINE PASSENGER CAR QUESTION
Posted by genelbradleyjr on Friday, October 16, 2009 5:43 PM

I just purchased a Branchline Trains ready to run, Blueprint Series 12-1 Pullman Sleeper. I was just wondering if anybody else who owns one of these things has changed the couplers out with something with a shorter shank or moved the coupler back in order to decrease the gap between cars when coupled. Since the car is already assembled, looks like an awful lot of stuff to have to work around or remove for this otherwise simple task. (i.e. due to the high level of detail on the car)

I would bet you ask this question because you're displeased with the gap between the diaphrams of coupled cars.  I suggest you pop off the factory installed diaphrams (I used an Exacto knife and gently wiggled it between car body and diaphram) and replace them with better diaphrams:

Once installed, you'll find the appearance very much improved.
