New Ray N scale trains, anyone got any? Help needed.

 These thingies:

These are battery powered N gauge sets that came out a few years ago, not the best option by far if you want actual operations but for a quickly set up run-in-circles kinda stuff its OK enough, and as such they are actually not bad looking models, now...I figure a few people here dabbled with these over the last couple years so...

Wanna get rid of them?

I have two sets already and have all the track I need, but these sets are scarce on cars, so I'm looking for additional freight cars, Superliner cars and maybe engines (good condition please) for a special micro-layout project, but I dont want to have to buy entire new sets when I'm just looking for a few more rolling stock items,  I'm more interested in picking up a few more cars though, any engines considered need to be in working condition please.

PM me and lets talk.

PS moderators yes yes, I know all about the official policies (I've been here longer than most of you) but I'm not selling anything and I simply cant find another second hand source for these silly things so I'm simply asking for some help here and if anyone can help me with this to take it to a PM , besides I'm asking cause I really need them for a layout building project and really have no other source for finding these as second hand items. No one resells these on Evilbay (probably for good reason).

BTW, project? Completely sceniced portable go anywhere two track 2x4 N gauge layout for less than (or as close to) $100... can he do it?

Train Bay? Never heard of it, (got a link?) Google search doesnt come up with anything. Sorry no pics yet, they are actually really quite nice looking for being diecast, the couplers are rubbish though, just a bar between the cars, but then they wernt ment to do anything than hold the train together, might have to try adding Kadees to a couple cars as an experiment if the stock ones get on my nerves.

Just a thoguht; couldn't regular N sclae rolling stock be converted to run with these, or do they use a different coupler?

Train Bay Ebay only has new sets, thats what I'm trying to avoid buying new sets, that would blow my budget, so I was seeing if there were any used sets people might be wanting to shed. Oh well...

I havent tried that yet, gotta find the box that has all my very small collection of old N stuff in it. the trucks should be fine but the cuoplers are completely incompatable, I would have to rig Kadees onto the New Rays

If all you're going to do is run trains around, or if what you need more of will not be broken down into a set, then you'd only need to rig a Micro-Trains (Kadee is HO, micro-trains is N and Z)  coupler onto the last new ray coach or freight car.

I have four of those Railroad N sets, two Union Pacific, one Santa Fe set, and an Amtrak with F40PH. Not bad little sets, especially when they are convenient for packing up and taking with on deployments on a submarine. Being able to setup multiple sets together with their track is a neat thing as well. I wish there was more of them available.

Another old thread revived -- this one is 4 years old!  Someone seems to be toying with us by dredging up these old topics.

FYI as the initial poster here, let me put this topic to bed. I messed around with the sets I had at the time of the initial post for a while but in the end, I came to the conclusion that given the limitations of the sets, and that even used buildings in N tend to be expensive that the planned cheapo city micro layout I planned just wasnt going to work out the way I hoped so I shelved the whole thing, I still have the New Ray sets. Just need to find something worth doing with them.
