CB&Q_Guy,

Well, your decision is respected. You've had some good posts, keep it up!

Chompers,

Thanks! Cool background. Nice to see that you're using DC and DCC.

Is your layout outdoor or indoor? Do any of your units have sound?

OK,now that I know you're not crazed bloodthirsty maniacs out to steal my ID and (hopefully) clean up my credit and improve my social standing, I'll add some pertinent facts to my profile.
Thanks AFP45!

sheep to the slaughter..lol

Why is it important to know who is a teen middle age or oldtimer?
Some oldtimers are new to modeling and some teens have been born into a family of modelers.

Generally information of the personal nature you ask should not be given out online ever.Predators generally fit the profile of those desiring this type information. Are you a predator antonio???

Tileguy,

Wow! What a flaming sucker punch!

Never!
I'm a very conservative and patriotic Black Hispanic in my 40s! A hardworking family man that's been a modeler since 1976! By the way: In my career position, I would be FIRED ON THE SPOT and put on the evening news if there was a hint of me being a "predator"!!!!!! One of my best neighbors is a police officer! Our kids play together!

While your question is offensive and demeaning, I'll gladly reply to you as your intentions may be sincere.

If you CAREFULLY READ the first page of my post as well as my responses on it, you will see I'm not a predator!

Predator talk? ? With all due respect: Guy, are you paranoid?!? You've got to be kidding?

Funny, on the post I don't recall asking for location, job schedules, career plans, residence, likes and dislikes, family members, favorite websites, etc. THIS IS ABOUT TRAINS, dude, and helping each other in this hobby. Don't know what else you're reading into this!!

Personal nature? You mean, What scale do you model? and what age group so that a person can respond accrodingly instead of giving useless info? You call this "sensitive" information?? Dude, with all due respect you're definetly paranoid!

One more thing. I challenge you to read my past posts. You'll find that they encourage modelers with questions asked regarless of background. There are "no hidden agendas", "slick talk", or "flaming". I sincerely think that most of the guys on this MRR forum will tell you that I've been quite helpful and supportive! I usually answer in a humble manner.
Checking the profile, again, helps in determining if a detailed or simplified answer is helpful! In fact, in my opinion, you've given too much info on your profile! My suggestion calls for far less info then what you listed!!

Please re-read the post and my additional responses carefully. You'll notice that I suggest filling out only two categories, not one's detailed, personal life's story!

No need to hurl spears!

Take care, 10-4!

Antonio,
You have no reason to defend yourself here. We all know your intentions are good.
You are one of the most optimistic people here, and I have seen you defuse a lot
of aggressive situations. I have noticed your ability to respond calmly and rationally when someone has been aggressive toward you. My hats off to you, as I sometimes wish I could be a cool headed as you
Keep posting as you always do. See ya, Dave

BTW, what's the latest on the Tsunami? I haven't heard anything lately.

Tileguy
if you are really sensitive about your privacy you should not register on the internet anywhere !
How anonymous you think you surf, the real predators out there have ways to check you out anyway. imho: Privacy on the internet is a illusion!
and what Antonio asked for is info you might as well have given away in posting at this forum anyway,
I agree with him it is easier to check a profile for the person than to do a search of the entire forum for posts to figure out what he may model or prefer, something like you have filled in your profile!

Dave9999, Lupo,

Thanks for your support and kind words. I have to admit that while I try to keep a cool head and suggest to everyone that they do the same, Tileguy's unprovoked response "raised my temperatue" 1 or 2 degrees there for a few minutes!

Thanks again, oh and Dave we should be seeing the Soundtraxx "Tsunami" soon! According to Nancy Workman from Soundtraxx, the target date is sometime in Nov 2004. The delay was caused by on two components on backorder from one of their vendors.

Cheers and God Bless!

Since the rest of us know what you are about and that you are very much one of us, I wouldn't worry about Tileguy. Maybe he has a legitimate concern on one hand, but he certainly could have gotten his point across better. We are all together in this forum, and we certainly know that none of us is looking for trouble. There are many other sites,
(too many, I'd guess) for that, and certainly none of them are about trains, real or model.
What is unfortunate is that we do have to occasionally worry about such things on the internet.
