That's essentially what I have under the layout, speakerwise. The sound system senses the current draw of the locomotive and synchs up with the speed. Of course, you have to set up each loco individually when you run it, but that is really easy to do. It is really cool when I start out a long train and can hear the slack coming out of the couplers for the whole length of the train. It also has sounds you can trigger when it is standing still, such as loading coal, greasing the rods, taking on water, and when you pull into a station, you can trigger an arrival sequence with announcements, baggage unloading, and the departure from the station. Neat. The unit is made by QSL and has actual recorded sounds stored on a memory chip. The whole thing is controlled by three buttons.
