I have a fair amount of time, it's just that I lack motivation to work on the layout mostly. I occasionally try to run it, then I get depressed when it runs poorly and I go and do something else...

The backdrops on my layout are 1/8" masonite, painted blue and fastined to the plywood base with small (1" by 1") L braces with small bolts/nuts holding the pair of L braces (one on each side of the backdrop board) together with the backdrop sandwiched in between.

Each backdrop board is blended together with aluminum tape. I would recommend using something else, like drywall putty or something instead, as the joints between the boards aren't very smoot, there are a lot of wrinkles on each joint...

The clouds are made with stencils and an airbrush. I use New London stencils, using a technique I learned in a clinic by the makers of the stencils at the Springfield, MA train show.
