Movie ORIGINALLY released under the title, "Emperor of the North Pole." This was from a hobo boast about an imaginary title. However, distributers apparently thought the title confused audiences into thinking this was a film about the polar frozen north! The film was re-released under the revised title "Emperor of the North." I was working with a TV station in the ad department and had to "tag" the coming events clip reel with the local theater name, got to see it a jillion times and when the station wanted to discard the old 16mm film, I got to take it home.
Actor shown, Lee Marvin as character A-number-1.
The trainconductor was played by Ernest Borgnine, and his character was called simply "Shack." That is a generic old-time term for conductor.
Filmed on the Oregon, Pacific and Eastern.
