 So it's one complete SW1500, undecorated, plus an extra underframe.....

The price is too high. Pass. That's more then they sold for new.

I suppose that with the parts being offered one could cobble together an old too-wide-hood SW1500 and the price of $26.49 is probably reasonable. Caveat emptor: the seller is very firm that he ain't gonna take this thing back under any circumstance so you need to decide if you are willing to risk that twenty-six smackers or not.

I have one on the layout that I got last year new for under $15 complete in one box. I look at it as a ripoff. Also that's not a SW1500 or SW7. Looks more like a SW1000.

First,The SW1000 has the scale width hood..The SW7 has the wide body-its still the only SW7 in town..

Look closely and you will see that is a older SW7/Baldwin S12 drive with the metal flywheel-not the newer drive with the brass flywheel..It also appears the 2 of the sideframes is missing..

Now going the next step and looking at the highly improved SW1000 with cab interior and road specific details George was wise to pass on that locomotive-er parts.
