Before or After

I am going to be experimenting with building undecorated box car kit and I need your opinions.  Should I paint before or after assembly?  I figure I should paint the trucks before connecting to the body of the box car.  Any other recommendations would be appreciated.  Thank you.

I would paint major portions before and weather the car afterwards. That is the way I wearther my rolling stock. If you are goint to have the doors open dont forget the inside and floor.

Greetings,

My 2 cents....Build then paint is usually the best route as glue doesn't stick to paint.  I wash whatever plastic I'm going to paint in a mild dish washing liquid then water rinse to remove any mold release residue.  I allow at least 24 hours dry time between washing and painting just to be safe.
