shayfan84325 twhite This may not mean much to some of you, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to work on the MR if you're also listening to Mahler's Fifth Symphony, LOL! However, Aaron Copland works really well, especially if your MR setting is the West. Hey Tom, Some music has a similar effect on me, but I don't know much about this Mahler dude. For me it's Motown.. What can I say? What it lacks in sophistication it makes up in energy.

Hey Tom,

Hey, I look at it this way: Music is as Music does. Go for it!

loathar I'm on Direct dish so I don't want to spend the $$$ for an extra line and decoder in the train building.TV isn't that big a distraction for me. I'd rather listen to music and the Dish networks have OUTSTANDING commercial free music channels.

I have Dish satellite and I just ran a line from the box in our bedroom to the basement. Once in a while my wife changes the channels on me but it works for the most part.
The TV does distract me to some degree but, the way I look at it, is at least I'm in the basement. I would rather by working slowly while watching TV in the basement rather than not working at all in the living room.
And during operating sessions the TV is off. No need to add another distraction while operating a train.
