Extreme Trains on the History Channel
Posted by n2mopac on Saturday, November 8, 2008 8:38 AM

I haven't been around here in a while, so greetings everyone.

I'm very excited about the History Channel's new series, Extreme Trains, which premiers Tuesday at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central. This first episode is about coal trains. It will be nice to have some new train television for a change. You can bet I'll be tuned in.

This must be the 5th or 6th thread there's been about this now. I have my VCR set to catch it. With my luck the power will go just as it comes on.

I hope the show is better than the title!

After I saw the ad for it on the tube last night, I searched for it on the DVR so I could set up a recording.

There were about fourteen other shows entitled Extreme (Fill in the blank)!

Still, you know where me n' the popcorn will be on Tuesday night...

Please tune in to MY new show, "EXTREME NAPPING" staring my sons in amazing episodes where they take their naps on live TV every afternoon!

Mods-this is TRAIN related as my sons always take a Thomas train to bed with them.  Wink

We're also working on EXTREME TODDLER PLAYTIME! at their preschool, but the other kids agents are all nit picking the contracts.

Proud to be DD-2itized! 1:1 scale is too unrealistic. Twins are twice as nice!

I usually stay away from shows called "extreme blank". They are usually quite poor. But this program seems interesting. It's just a *** shame that I'll probably won't be able to see it unless it shows up on one of the Swedish satellite channels. The only problem with that is. IF it shows up on history channel or national geographic channel and still carries the name Extreme trains the odds of it being a terrible show is greatly increased. The quality of their documentaries seems to be exceptionally speculative. Saying things like: "Their might be no proof that the Mayans where aliens, but just because they have been proven to be human doesn't mean that scientists could be wrong"  Big Smile

But I would love to see this and judge it for my self! Sometimes these channels actually produce some decent shows.  Sign - Oops

Here's an idea, guys...Get Over It!!! If I want to express a thought, heaven forbid I do it without searching the site for just the right thread to post it under. If its repetitious to you and you're not interested, don't read it! This is exactly why I basically quit coming around this site. It used to be a friendly place to share ideas and information in a pleasant community, but it has become a place to nit pick people's way of expressing themselves or spelling. Give it a rest!

Ron,

I can understand your sentiment. I just hope that some of us did not react negatively against your post. I know I appreciated the info despite having read it several times. Since if one missed it the first time one might miss it altogether unless you do nothing but sit on these forums.

And since the name of the thread is pretty obvious my big question is why people who don't want to read it keep doing it. The comments about you not being the first to mention the program has been around us since the second one.

I know for sure that I do not search for everything that post before I post. Sometimes it doesn't occur to me that I should and some times I want a new thread about something anyways.

Keep posting.

Thanks, and no, my post was specifically for those to whom it obviously applied--those who feel the need to spend their time looking for opportunities to point out what they view as others' shortcomings. Thanks again.

I watched the show for the first time and found it very entertaining. I think the host needs to tone it down a bit. . . "This is CRAZY!!!" He liked using that phrase a lot. Overall, a very enjoyable show.
