Blue Line Big Boy- tether doesn't fit?
Posted by selector on Sunday, October 19, 2008 12:18 PM

A friend who has done some decoder installations for me phoned saying a neighbour had just received a BLI Big Boy of the Blue Line, and that neither of them could get the tether inserted into the female receptacle inside the tender, on the decoder.  Any ideas?

Selector: I have one. It's a pain in the caboose to get that thing in there. You have to take the coal load off (push down on the front end I believe) and then feed the plug into the tender. To plug it in, it looks like it should go one way, but it actually goes on the other way, a bit confusing... Once I get home from my dad's house I can help more.

Thanks, Mark.  These fellas have used enough force that they are afraid the plug will slip and break, or that they'll break the receptacle on the decoder.

They mention that the pins inserted in the male end look triangular in profile from their ends.
