This is similiar to a thread asked back in December. Some one asked what the ratio was for mixing the glue to the water for ballasting. I said 20% while those who answered behind me said 1:1. Well as it turned out I did a lot of ballasting since then and I found out my 20% glue to water ratio was too low. However it worked to my advantage and here's why. The section that was ballasted with the 20% solution had to be realligned after words. so with a couple of taps the track came free. When I re-ballasted the track again I used the 20% solution ran the trains making sure every thing worked well and ran straight. once satisfied I put a second coat of glue/water solution on the ballast which was 40%. this has worked very well and yet if I had to rip up the track again it could be down with little effort.
