I've used a product called Envirotex lite pour-on plastic finish which worked very well on my layout. Preparation of your scenery (lake) before pouring the casting resin is most important. If you can get your hands on an article that appeared in Model Railroader magazine in June 1996 page 76 titled "let's model water" by Jim Kelly it would show you exactly how to make your lake. If you are unable to get copy of said article let me know and give me your E-mail address and I'll scan you a copy of it - that would be easier than try to explain to you how to prepare your foundation for your lake - let me know - regards <br /> Rudy Montreal Canada
