Turntable motor bracket
Posted by Trainmark on Saturday, June 7, 2008 10:47 PM
I'm new to this so please bear with me. I recently purchased a second hand Walthers turntable motorizing kit(#942-472). When I received it, it was missing the bracket. My question is, can anyone send me the dimensions so I can fabricate one, or better, if anyone has one they're not going to use, do you want to sell it? Any answer will be appreciated. Trainmark

The bracket really isn't anything special. It just needs to clear the workings under the turntable and the motor has to be in perfect alignment with the bridge. It is also (IIRC) glued to the bottom of the turntable pit. Just mount up the motor to the bridge, and measure for what is needed to fasten it in place. I'm going to give you fair warning however, getting this thing to work properly is an exercise in patience and sometimes, futility.

Good luck..

Try sending an e-mail to Walthers.  They will certainly sell you one for a nominal fee, and my guess is they're just as likely to send it to you for nothing, if they have one in stock.  Let them know you bought the kit second-hand, and when you opened it you found the part was missing.

They enclose a note in some of their kits that says "We want you to succeed."  They even say they'll replace a part if you break it during assembly.

Hi Rolleiman. First off THANKS for the info. Second, Sorry it took me so long to get back to your post. My computer finally gave up the ghost and no amount of exercism could revive it. It kind of took modeling off the table for a while. On the plus side I finally got a new computer. Anyway, the bracket looks simple enough. I contacted Walthers(suggested by another post) and they will sell my one for $2.00 + $5.95 shipping. I'll try to make my own first. I like to try to fabricate things. Bye and thanks again.
