Weathering
Posted by CMucha on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 4:13 PM

What is the best approach for beginer weatherers? What kind of paint should I use? Does chalk weathering look more realistic?

Thanks

Colin

Lots of good threads on weathering recently, use the search function.
However, to be less snotty and give you a start, here's a good thread on on weathering with craft paints.

And I think the best weathering is a combo of paint for the base and (then) powder/chalk...

Chalk is a great way to start, I think. I, myself, started with chalks. The great advantage with them is that most of what you put on can be removed if you don't like how it turned out. Next I moved on to dry brush weathering and then eventually on to airbrushing. I still use all of those techniques when they will best produce the result I'm looking for.
