Hi from Belgium,
A few issues ago of MR the staff published an article about putting a DCC decoder in this small engine. I remember it was a Digitrax one.
Could anyone tell me the month of the issue of MR where the article was published.
Thanks a lot in advance.

I'm not sure about that article, but this is a very easy install and an exellent first hardwire install to do. There are some on-line instructions that work well. I used them with great success.
Here's the one I used: (go about halfway down the page) http://www.trainweb.org/nrmrc/dcc/conversions.html
And there's these too: http://www.tcsdcc.com/decoderpics/Bachman%20N%20scale%202-8-0/bachman_n_scale_2_8_0.htm

There's also a difference in the installation between the original run and later ones. If you get the later run, it's very easy. A piece of the boiler weight unscrews to make room for the decoder, and you have solder pads right there to make the connections. The older one you have to either make room by grinding out the boiler frame, or hardwire the tender in and put the decoder in there.
