Worlds Greatest Train Show - Anyone Going?
Posted by Loco on Thursday, March 13, 2008 9:31 AM

Anyone going to the Kansas City Convention Center on the 15th and 16th?  This will be my first time, taking the family and even staying overnight at one of the down town hotels.  ((close to a mall for the wife Big Smile [:D] ))

Rather excited about the whole deal and glad to be back and able to pick up with my ever growing train-bug feaver lol

I was thinking about the WGTS in Kansas City, but the $10 admission fee seems high and then there is parking cost above this. (My wife loves to shop in Kansas City, but doesn't drive in Kansas City, so I will have to pay for two admissions and parking, before I get to any trains.  Then take her to the mall after the train show.)  I know that this is a once in a lifetime show, but I am going to pass.

Another consideration is the Big 12 basket ball tournment is going on right next door at the new Sprint Center through Sunday afternoon.  Knasas City officials are braging about the big crowds that the basket ball tournment has brought to town.  Access to the train show may be a big problem.  I hope that you made advance reservations for your lodging.

Will be sure to stop by your both!!!

I hear ya on the big 12 games.  But I did make reservations at a nice hotel.  Making a weekend of it.  I've been away on business for a while and just getting back, so it will be a treat for the family.  There is a sky walk to the mall from the hotel and with the hotel reservations I get parking, I'll just get a cab to the event I figure... in any case I'm bringing both credit cards LOL
