QSI aint dead yet. I simply rely on Walthers Proto and other Manufactors who still carry QSI in thier engines. And of course there is loksound.

Blueline to me simply postpones the inevitable for Analog people. They will have to go to DCC eventually.

The QSI Upgrade chip restores the lost features that were contested by the MTH in the lawsuit some time ago. My BLI M1a from 2003 had the upgrade chip installed and she moves on just one click of the DT400 throttle versus 15-30 clicks on the old QSI lawsuit chip.

I plan to upgrade the other engines in my fleet as well. It will take time and money and QSI is thier own supplier, NOT BLI. In fact, I suspect Tony's Train Exchange is actually QSI... but not sure. At least they are a very good provider of QSI products... OUTSTANDING.

If I was QSI I would focus on issuing decoders such as Soundtraxx, Digitrax etc... sooner or later everyone will stop using thier patented technology in new run retail engines.

Hopefully by then QSI can still remain revelant with these aftermarket decoders that will be necessary.

I also checked the BLI website, not a peep anywhere about this announcement.

Pesonally I feel that I am witnessing the end of a Era and a great Locomotive Manufactor... I will need to move on with engines from other suppliers (Already doing so)
