I was looking for a member's profile, and stumbled on this....
http://www.trains.com/community/forum/members.asp?mode=search&m_name=S&p=username&mt=begin

Seems the expression RHIP is true!!

Rank Hath It's Privilege

And Andy has 5 stars but only has 361 posts. I have more posts than that, and I only have 2 stars. Maybe it has to do with quality and not quantity...... Nah.[bow][swg]

Now what would CP5710 say about this???

It seems clear that we mortals will never reach this level, but we can keep trying, and reaching for them!!!![:D]

I had to get your attention somehow.[:D]

Ah yes mark, that's what I was afraid of.[:D]Did you follow the link, and see Andy Sperandeo's 5 stars? I thought you would get a kick out of that. Also did you see my response on the dummy coupler question. That was a nice topic, keep up the good work.[:D]

BTW If you want to see posting, check my profile, and see the posts per day, then go read some, though I know that you've read a lot of them already.[:)]

I guess Bergie just isn't into stars. I looked at your layout plan, I wish I could do that, but I would have to do it in sections, its so big. Check out Andy's layout on the main MR page.

I never knew Trains had forums. My dad was the one who joined acculy. We used it mostly for the stuff you can't get without a password.

I find it interesting that there are 157,356 members, of which only a tiny fraction post regularly to this forum. And, while it is reassuring to know that I'm on page 6 of 7868 post-wise, I wonder what all the other members do! Currently, I am just behind lupo and just ahead of 9664, but that's all about to change--when I post this I'll be tied with lupo. Funny...I only really read posts from a handful of members. And to compliment this "reaching for the stars" theme, it does make this forum seem rather universe-like.

Sincerely,
Daniel

I have mentioned this in a couple of other places in the forum, but it fits well here too, so I'll say it again, to a slightly different audience.

In just over two months of posting here, I have exchanged emails with a lot more members than I ever imagined I would. On two seperate occasions now, I have been contacted by members who have never posted a single word. I'm flattered that they have chosen to ask me their questions, and somewhat sadened by the fact that they may be too shy to ask openly in the forum, but I am always happy to answer privately if they are more comfortable that way.

The important point here is that there are members here who only read what we write.

Same here BB4005.
Not only by you, but I've been contacted by a couple of other people as well including one that had his layout in MR this past winter.
I've said it once, I'll say it again, this is by far the best MR forum on the WWW.

Just my [2c}

Gordon

Brought to you by the letters C.P.R. as well as D&H!

You're welcome, and than you![:)] I finally found one that's short, sweet, and to the point, GO UP!!! The flashing lights really catch your atention. And, yes, I'm still wondering why Bachmann put a fake looking plastic coupler on the front of my 0-6-0.

Since the introduction of the 'stars' there has been a lot of really frivolous posts that I suspect are solely for the purpose of getting stars. But the stars are fun and even if people are posting just for accumulation, let's keep them.
