The Dream-Plan-Build Video Series put out by Kalmbach is a reasonably good series that may be a little over priced with the shipping & handling, but, for me at least, I usually get enough interest and new information to make it worthwhile. I look forward to it in the mailbox every 6 weeks or so, just like I do the monthly Model Railroader.
Joe-Daddy and others have requested an Index/Table of Contents for the many videos. Since I have built and maintain this information for myself, I agreed to post it here.
Rather than alphabetical or chapter order, I put each volume's contents in order by type -- Technique, Prototype, etc.
Hope you find this useful. Ken
A sincere thanks for compiling the information. I know it took some time.

To complete the picture on the DPB series, here's how you get in:
To get put onto the TN Marketing's video list, call 800-533-6644. There are two lists, one for the model railroad series (Dream, Plan, Build), and a prototype railroad series (Trains magazine). So, to stay on their list to receive future videos, you must return the ones you don't want to pay for (in the postage prepaid return envelope provided), and purchase at least one of every two or three videos.
So there you have it -- the complete table of contents for each volume of the series so far (excellent job, Ken), and how to get the videos if you want them (thanks to Doug Tagsold, who got this info from the DPB series producers when they were shooting his layout).
And why Kalmbach has never thought to put this info on their own site somewhere is beyond me. So we will do it for them ... this is how marketing on the internet works, guys. You post the info and people will come. Amazing how that works.

Thanks, Ken, for taking the time to compile this information. Even though I own all 14 DVD's listed, it is nice to see this information in one place. I was also curious to see if there was a Volume 13 out there that I hadn't yet received.
Like Joe, I am perplexed by the secrecy surrounding this campaign. I'm sure he would agree that his own series (which is AWESOME!) would not be nearly as successful without an internet presence.
Ken, I hope you will update this thread as new volumes become available. I, for one, appreciate the time it took away from other concerns to create this list. Kudos!

Hi maandg! Yes, I plan to update and post as I get them. I'll just continue the postings on this thread as then they will all be together. Hopefully, our fellow modelers will be able to spot the updates when I post them here. Heck I hope I can find the thread again as they get buried so quickly. ;-]
Ken
Ken,
I'm thankful you took the time and effort to not only compile the index but to also find away to make it available to us.

Received Chapter 13 in the mail yesterday. Here is the Table of Contents. I used same format as before. Hope you still find this thread helpful. Ken

Here's an April 20, 2008 update with the latest video:
Thanks for the index. I would like to know if you could purchase select ones or do you have to sign up for the whole series?

You're quite welcome.
As for individual purchases, I really don't know. On the one hand, I can see why they would want to limit to subscribers only, but on the other hand, as a business with a limited audience, you'd think they would want to maximize their sales. It might explain why they refuse to publish their own Table of Contents , so that you can't pick and choose. I certainly hope that isn't the case. You might give Kalmbach a call or send them an E-mail. I've been getting them since they started, so I never had a need to inquire about it. I should note that I have sent back 2 or 3 of them and haven't had a problem or been 3rd degree'd about it. They are very accommodating in that sense. Ken

Did you see my post earlier in this thread ... ? Here it is again ...

The lack of info on this series from Kalmbach is dumbfounding, since it's *their* series -- even if they did contract with an outside firm to produce and distribute them. Not how I would run a marketing campaign were I in their shoes ... but here's how to contact the distributor if you're interested in the series.
It's a good series, and I have them all ... and I hope Kalmbach does more media-based material like this. This sort of thing is the future of hobby how-to material if you ask me.

I wonder if Vol 14-24 is posted somewhere else. This is really good work!

Hi Joe,
Glad you liked the listing. I'll try and get out an update in the next few days with 14-19 and 3 or 4 new specials. Hopefully, I can remember how to edit adding on the additional titles and contents.
As usual, they stopped sending them to me for the last 8 months or so. You would think they would try and treat their solid repeat customers a little better than they do. Still haven't figured them out yet. A weird marketing plan, for sure.
:) Ken
Ken (or someone else)-
What about listing from 14 and on? Has anyone seen such a list?
Can anyone contribute to a table of contents lilsting for issues 14 and on?
kenkal,
I barely get one paid for when the next one shows up. I swear I have been getting 2 from each side (model and full size) a month. I have been in on it from the beginning. Got one repeat, which I had in the old thick box, so at least I got a thin case for the one I had!
In the last year I have had a lot less free time to watch these, so I started to get a backlog, and yet they keep coming faster and faster!
Gents,
Here is a couple of DVD's that I have.

Jridge, I put out an update back in April of last year with #'s 14-19 plus a few others. Try this link:
http://cs.trains.com/TRCCS/forums/p/172806/1896569.aspx#1896569
if for some reason it doesn't work, just do a search in this forum for dream-plan and should get you there as well.
I just got #20 the other day -- first one I received in almost a year.
I know that you can return the dvd's in a pouch provided it you wish to not keep the disc. I have been keeping all of mine because I might need something off of one of the discs.
I have also been recieveing Real Rails discs as part of the normal series.

Gentlemen,
I have a copy of a DPB video that depicts Jim Eudaly's O scale C&O Hinton Division that I receved from the author several years ago. It is a layout tour and also construction tips on his layout. I do not see this listed anywhere as it has no volume # assigned to it!! Could this be for a future publication??
Regards,
Teddybear
I have 90 of these videos. Moved and now can't seem to figure out how to give them new address and get the videos started again. Anyone know how? Dan
