I really wanted to see Farve in the Super Bowl one last time, but I doubted they'd win it all if they did make it. I'll most likely root for NY because of Eli getting all the bad raps, but they will have to play like they never have before. They came close at the end of the season, but they will have to go the extra mile to win against the Patriots.

So do you think Farve will stay or will he retire? I wouldn't like having that big of a decision to make, and I think he will have a hard time doing so since he had such a great season.

I'm a Giant's fan, but in a way I was hoping to see Farve in a Super Bowl.  It was a great game - I'm glad I watched on TV where it was 70 degrees!!  The NE San Diego game was pretty good also!Big Smile [:D]

Yes I agree, watching the games in a temperature controlled area was nice today. Last night in good ol WV it dropped to five degrees, the air is so cold because of the higher levels of humitidy and today it was hard to take a deep breath outside, thats pretty cold, at least to me.

I'm a Packers fun, but frankly they played horrible tonight. Its called consistency, and Favre doesn't have it. The Giants deserve the win. I hope they Kick New Englands Butt. If I was a betting man though, I'd bet on New England.

With all due respect for you fans of American footbrawl - guess the missing word.

After eight days of the January 2008 Grand (?) Tournament, Yokozuna Hakuho is the only undefeated competitor, there are still two people with only one loss and several more with two losses.

The (?) Association announced today that two Makuuchi Division competitors, an Ozeki and a Komusubi, would be allowed to withdraw from competition due to injury.  Competitors are only withdrawn if it is physically impossible for them to continue.  Both are suffering from joint injuries that would make successful competition extremely unlikely, and probability of additional injury almost a certainty.

Ninth day competition will be available to NHK Cable subscribers between 11:00 PM tonight and 1:00 AM tomorrow morning (PST) live from Tokyo.

Having been a Pats fan for many years, I've learned one thing, purely from observation:

Don't bet on the Pats.  Don't bet against the Pats, either.  When Vegas says it will be close, it's a blowout.  When Vegas sets a big spread, it's a close game.  This year in particular, most games it seems like they've played just hard enough to win.  I don't think the Superbowl will be any different.

There will be some perverse satisfaction in beating a Manning in the Superbowl, but I too wanted to see The Pack get there one more time for Brett Favre.  Of all the players in the league, past and present, I think he's the one who always reminds me that it's a game, and it's supposed to be fun.

Al Harris played a little TOO nasty, yer supposed to tackle guys after they catch the ball. And,yes Favre blew it,the packers blew it, they gave Tynes three tries to kick the winning field goal. As for the super bowl I just hope both teams are hot for a good game. Otherwise I'll get a lot of model railroading done. Its cold here in Idaho Too!!

Yeah, it figures that we'd have to face a Censored [censored] Manning in the big one.  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]I wonder if Payton will be tempted to dress up in a Giants uniform to sneak into the game for a couple of snaps?  Laugh [(-D]  I'm sure we'll see him in a commercial or two...

I missed the end of the Giants Packers game, but I was really hoping to see Green Bay go. I did catch the Pats and Chargers after halftime, and it was a pretty good game, I was a little worried for the Pats for a while there. I was morally oblgated to root for the Pats after the beating that San Diego put on my team in Denver..... Which just happened to be my very first pro game that I attended. My money would be on the Pats to win the Lombardi, but if the Packers went, I would root for them.....

Early Sunday afternoon, my wife got a call to tell her that the elderly husband of someone in the Garden Club had passed away.  The thing that I found interesting was that the funeral home was closed between the hours of 3 and 6 PM, Eastern Time, roughly co-incident with the kickoff and final whistle of the Pats game.

Go Saints! Sign - Oops [#oops]

Okay, I'll root for the Giants since Eli is Archie's son, and Archie was a Saint. Even though the Pats could make a record, I always root for the underdog!

My apologies in advance for posting non-MR related material, but...

I have to throw a little love towards my real hometown team, the New England Patriots and their incredible as-of-yet undefeated season.  Never did I think anyone would even come close to 16-0, and never in a million years did I think it would be the Patriots back when they were 1-15 back in the early 1990's, or getting smoked back in Super Bowl XX.  I was one of the very few Patriot fans in my class...and I grew up in Foxboro!  They all liked whoever was winning at the time (Raiders, Cowboys, 49ers, etc.).  Now, of course, they're all Pats fans.  Bah!

My dad was an usher at ol' Schafaer Stadium from day 1 (the traffic jam from H-E-double hockey sticks) 'til the mid-80's, and I got to see several games for free when I was a kid.  A couple of my dad's friends still work there, and one of them (George) was even in a Patriots video getting his AFC East Div. Champs hat stolen off his head by Mike Vrabel.  Smile [:)]  George works in the locker room, and he also got a real Super Bowl XXXVI ring along with every Patriots employee.

I personally still laugh at those Bostonians who didn't want the Patriots in their city.  Foxborough is (usually) a greatful host, and we certainly have reaped the benefits (and the occasional problems) that come with the territory.  Heck, we even have train service to the stadium from both Boston and Providence (hey, I had to get some kind of trains mentioned in this post, right?).

Now, it's all come down to this: if the Pats win, they'll be legends...one of the greatest teams in sports history.  If they lose, they'll be laughed at.  Do or die...1 game at a time.
