Looking for a Floor

  I would like to put a black and white floor in one of my buildings and haven't had any luck finding a sutable pic. What I am looking for is a tile floor that every other tile is either black or white, like a checker board. I have done a google search and haven't found anything that will work, any one here know where I could go to download something like this?  Thanks.       Mike

Didn't even know I saved these , scale them as you wish with most paint type programs. I usually make them with my paint program as I need it , don't even save it usually.

That black & white pattern is a classic.  I remember seeing it in the older "Victorian era" apartment buildings while growing up in New York City back in the 60s and 70s. Almost always in the lobby area.  It's a very attractive pattern.

At the Suncoast Model Railroader's Club in Largo, FL one of the HO commuter train stations has that style floor. Can be easily seen through the windows. The gentleman that built it told me that he obtained the floor from the dollhouse accessories section of a hobby shop.

About half my buildings on my layout have some form of tile floor.  I either print them on heavy paper , and sometimes I have actually printed them as decals. Decals that large are a pain however. I think both my resturants have the red/white . While others have the black/white. I alway felt they gave that timeless feeling to building interiors. If you look at my stripmall I scratched this past fall you'll see them inside alternating red in one store black in the next. Didn't scale them down enough they are a little large. oh well !

That is beautiful work! I doubt anyone's gong to complain about the tile being oversized.  That mall design is so similar to the ones I've seen here in Florida from the late 70s thru today.  Very realistic indeed.

IMHO, the parking lot also merits an A+ as it looks like it was paved not long ago, yet shows evidence of rain and traffic wear.

COOL! I was just getting to the floor part of one of my buildings.

A 12 x 12 tile would be 0.138 inches square in HO gauge, a little over one eighth of an inch. So, yes, those tiles are about 3 feet square, might be right for G Scale. As I recall some tiles were either 8 or 10 inches as well. An expert will chime in here soon, I'm sure.

I have a blue and white square tiled floor that I created for a DPM building.

I also created several hardword floors, some with oriental carpets on them.

  Dallas, I have already made my black and white tile floor but will be needing some different floors in the next week. If it isn't to much trouble I would like to see what you have got, The blue and white sounds interesting.   Thanks. Mike
