I remember the "Year without christmas shopping"... around 1986 or so. There was a electric tension in the malls all around for the Cabbage Patch dolls. Police blotters regularly filled with reports of assault/battery from customers desperate for one that season.I was given a priveldge of hauling a complete trailer load of Pokemon late in my driving years and frankly going straight into a distribution facility full of toys was not fun. Especially one that was in particularly high demand and had to be treated as a secret. I had more lucrative offers on the cargo at the dock than even the juciest damaged steaks.I remember the beanie babies too.
