Magazine index bug?
Posted by BentnoseWillie on Thursday, January 15, 2004 7:41 AM
I've been trying to locate an article in an old MR on repowering Alco Models N scale brass diesels with an Atlas mechanism. I'm certain that the title was "Tame those old brass growlers", yet no combination of two or more of those words gathers any matches. I guess I'll have to find this one the old-fashioned way: by digging through my archive.

Meanwhile, has anyone else had trouble getting the index to turn up a result in a title text search, even when you're certain that you have the title correct?

Bentnose,
DId an Index of Magazines search using Atlas, Alco, and N in the keyword search and turned up the following. Is it the article you want, even if the title isn't what you remember ? I realize it's in Model Railroading rather than Model Railroader. Possibly you remembered a subtitle that didn't get codified. When I run into a search problem, I sometimes find it useful to use a keyword search rather then a title search.
