BLI has two different Mountains available today.  The PRR M1 available now in the Blue Line and the Union Pacific MT73 is available in the normal BLI with QSI.   I have the two with QSI and both are detailed fairly well, but the first run of MT-73's were not great runners.  I worked on my engine and broke it in on a roller set about 20 hours of run time before it was a happy camper.    The M1b ran good.

The latest M1b has the new BLI In house sound and you must install the DCC drive decoder if that is your method.  Otherwise, it is ready to run on DC with sound.    It is a good running model overall being a copy of the original M1b like I have.

The web site below declares the new Blue Line to be equal to the Paragon series.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

 athearnfan,

I have original issue M1b with QSI sound. Runs beautifully, no hassle. Will be installing QSI upgrade chip shortly. Looking forward to having RTC with new chip-even better low speed performance.

I have a BLI M1a that I had a issue with. It would not go through a Atlas #4 turnout, either way, it would derail. I asked here and it was suggested I check wheel gauge. I did....all were well...tried it again and ran like a champ...and has since. I am going to add a few more to my line-up. Waiting for the PRR J1!!
