QUOTE: Although Columbia Basin RR kept several WCRC locomotives, the CF7s were not among them. They, along with the WCRC's two GP7's eventually wound up on the Illinios Railnet (IR) and Nebraska-Kansas-Colorado Railnet (NKCR). I believe these two railroads share the same owner.

Josh Ziegler
Josh, that's great news! I'd wondered what had happened to CF7s 401 and 402 after BNSF took over the WCRC operations in Yakima. I have a special attachment to 402, as that's the first locomotive I operated when I worked for Washington Central. Nice to know they're both still putting in useful service.

Saw ex-WCRC Geep 9 No.302 yesterday near Harrah on the old White Swan branch working for the Toppenish, Simcoe & Western.

Paul Schmidt
Ellensburg, WA
