I had a Proto 2000 0-6-0 switcher that buzzed continually until it was running flat out. I sent it back to HobbyCraft (Canadian distributor). They looked at it and sent it back with the same problem. I contacted them again, with the help of the dealer I bought it from, and got a new engine from them with no buzzing noise.

A bit of a hassle, but they came through in the end. Two lessons learned - mail order companies cannot provide a hands-on test before you buy, and the savings from ordering by mail were eaten up by postage fees to send the thing back...

Andrew
