i have up#3978,painted two tone gray,test track run only 20 ft.front and backwards,,rus very smooth and starts very slow with a cheep bachmann transformer.BUT,it also runs great without the tender,so the tender is not part of the electronics.installing a kayde on the front is trickey buy i did it so you can also,,kayde on tender is no sweat,hope to get bigboy next so can run double head,, also heard all rivarossi is going to broadway for their electronics,,any comminets,,
