Custom Painted Motive Power
Posted by SOU Fan on Monday, August 13, 2007 6:49 PM
Hi all,
This is going to be the thread where I post all the custom painted Motive power that I have done.  As you will see I am a fan of Southern railway, and modern day equipment.  So far my favorite SOU loco is my SD70MAC, while my favorite loco is the SD80MAC.  Here are the first of many to come.

That is sweet.   I love Fallen Flag in modern power.   Guess it just helps the mind run wild.

Love 'em!

Be careful there, Smoke; you'll have good ole' davidmbedard breathing down your neck before you can say Jack Robinson!!!

By the way, you do do an outstanding job of painting. (I can't believe I just said 'do-do'.)

Why would I do that?  He didnt say anything about when and how he will be selling them....

Good looking units Smoke...

If I recall things he didn't say that last time but that didn't keep you from pitching a royal fit!!!

You recall incorrectly.  He origionally started that thread so potentional buyers would know how and where he would be selling them (ebay). He then changed his post after I mentioned that he might be against the forum rules.  Eventually Bergie REMOVED the thread because it was against the rules.

As you might know, I make a living custom painting for customers.  If I were able to post my 'wares' on these forums and let people know where to buy them, I could potentionally make more money....atleast have more people interested.

On a personal note, why do you continue to harass me on these forums?  I guess it is easy for forumites to sling out insults and names (past posts) when they remain faceless sitting in their computer chairs.

David B

Very nice work Smoke. That BN loco looks incredible! Did you ever finish your painting torturial thread? I was following it closely but then it just seemed to dissappear.

No, I haven't done any of those yet.  I have only done a handful of Southern units a Rio Grande unit and the BN one.  You will be seeing pictures of my second BN unit(another SD80MAC) here shortly.

I used microscale, as I do for all my models.

You may Wink [;)]

Those strobes actually work too.

This isn't some made up railroad either. The Davenport RockIsland & Northwestern ran from 1903 to 1995 here in the Quad Cities. I model what I see.
