I have a Bachmann N scale DCC ready tender, model BA89752, with 6 pins mounted on the board.
Can anyone sugest a decoder with a plug, or a way to wire a decoder to this unit.
I received no responce from bachmann. TCS and Digitrax were of no help either.
Thanks
Bob
Welcome to the forums! I see you have been lurking around for awhile, just getting into asking/answering questions.
You could email your question to a place like Tony's Train Exchange. I have had very good luck asking them questions. If you have a similar dealer near you, you could ask them, but Tony's seems to be a well known name.
Good luck,
Richard
I see one steamer with PC board in the tender but it uses all seven wire. and are clearly marked.
Have you looked closely at the PC board?
My experience with Bachmann DCC locos, the PC boards are labeled for connections.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
Take the shell off and post a picture of what you have. A picture is usually worth a thousand words.
The Bachmann photo is not the best.
I believe at one time I saw that the six pin connector was for connecting to the loco.
You will need to use Photo Bucket to do this. The instructions are at the top of this forum.
Here is an example of a Bachmann N scale DCC ready board. The six pin on the left connects to the loco. You can see the metal tabs to the lower right. Remove those and solder the decoder in.
The tender light is in the upper right and that marks the rear of the tender.
Yours should be similar.
Most DCC loco/tenders use six wires between loco and tender, reason for six pin connector.
TCS and Digitrax sell real small N scale decoders. I used some Digitrax DZ125 decoders. Good for N and HO scale.
Here is the six pin connector to connect to the "Loco".
It is also used in the N scale class J 4-8-4.

Quite surprised you could not get this info at the Bachmann forums. I don't usually watch that forum.
To my knowledge, it is what you need.
I have some HO DCC ready locos that I had to remove the clips and solder the deocder wires to the PC board. A two pin and four pin connector to the loco. Again, six pins, total.
Good luck.

Does the board in the locomotive look like the board in the photo? The 6 pin in that photo is not for a decoder, it is where the harness that comes from the locomotive connects. A picture of you tender with shell off would be useful.
