If you are going to use a Digitrax sound decoder at least spend a couple more dollars for the SDXH series for 16 bit audio instead of 8 bit. The Sound Depot at Digitrax has 2 RDC sound projects, one fot he 8 bit decoders and one for the 16 bit decoders. RDCs had two Detroit Diesel 6-110 prime movers and Allison torque converter transmissions (similar to the one used in the M46 Patton tank). That is the key to looking for sounds from other brands that may not specifically have an RDC. Detroit Diesel and hydraulic drive, if not from an actual Budd RDC, would be close.

I too have an RDC into which I envision installing sound. Aside from the Digitrax I know that QSI has a sound file for the Budd RDC.

If he continues using Loksound - then the sound file will be available to download to install in your own decoder. Maybe. The Kato, Atlas, and Bowser ones are all there, but none of the Rapido ones.
